Embarrasing

The Kalon Tripa is going to have to rethink this travelling campaign, and organize any future meetings, or in this case lack of them, with Government ministers. To be publicly denied meetings in Australia and resort to a meeting with a bygone Green party member , is rather embarrasing.. I agree with other comments that his choice of words and sentences makes one think of North Korea or China itself. There has been no answer to comment posted in reference to his statement, "hostile forces within the exile community" an explanation was also requested by another reader.

Is LS our Katri or CCP's spokesman?

Lobsang Sangay continues to show revelry of his lack leadership skill that Tibetans can bank on to further their cause and bring global attention to continuous self-immolations taking place in Tibet. Looks like he's more considerate and thoughtful of China's ongoing domestic chores than deteriorating situation in Tibet which true Tibetan leader would put as his top priority and demand China to drop everything they re doing and solve the crises in Tibet IMMEDIATELY, not giving a flying crap to whatever they re doing in Zhongnanhai this year.
And phayul reporter, doesnt Lobsang Sangay's age go up by one each year? Last year when he was campaigning for Katri, he was quoted as 43 year old man. Over 365 days have gone by since then and he's still 43??? Holy cow, in a few years, I'm going over take him...!

When will be the right time?
Jun 26 2012 08:27 PM
In the past decade there have been several meetings between His Holiness' Envoys & CCP officials. Each meeting resulted with no concrete agreements or positive developments.
Since at least 1985, the TGIE has been asking for genuine Tibetan autonomy. China has never once accepted or agreed to autonomy for Tibet, except nominal autonomy as it exists now.
The Special Envoys recently resigned citing China's unwillingness to consider genuine Tibetan autonomy & comments from senior Party officials that China should eliminate ethnic regional autonomy from the PRC Constitution.
Senior Chinese officials have said they will never discuss Tibet's political status or future, only the personal status of His Holiness the Dalai Lama & if He may be allowed to return to Tibet.
The Middle Way proposal has been around for over 10 years & despite many meetings, has failed to achieve a signle objective. China has rejected the Middle Way Proposal.
So what's the basis for believing that the Middle Way will work? What specifically is the reason some are optimistic that Middle Way will one day be accepted by China & how far in the future are you talking about? 10 years? 20 years? 50 years?
