CTA holds prayer service for Tibetan self-immolator Wangchen Dolma
A mass prayer service was held today in the exile Tibetan headquarters of Dharamshala in honour of nun Wangchen Dolma, who set herself ablaze in protest against China’s continued occupation of Tibet on June 11. Latest Tibetan self-immolator identified as nun Wangchen Dolma
The Tibetan nun who set herself on fire in protest against China’s continued occupation of Tibet on June 11 in Tawu region of Kham, eastern Tibet has been identified as 31-year-old Wangchen Dolma. Although she is believed to have survived her fiery protest, there is no further information on her present condition

85,000 strong petition urges UNESCO to Save Lhasa

Chinese diplomats threaten French journalist after Tibet report
Chinese diplomats have threatened and harassed a French journalist after he visited Tibet and secretly filmed a documentary which was broadcast last month on France 24. Cyril Payen was able to obtain a seven-day visa to Lhasa, Tibet’s ancient capital, which has been off limits to journalists since the 2008 uprisings against China’s rule.

After serving 5 years, Tibetan political prisoner comes out in poor health
A Tibetan political prisoner has been released in poor health after serving his full five year prison term in eastern Tibet, during which he was subjected to brutal torture at the hands of Chinese authorities. Tsewang Dakpa, a monk at the Jangang Monastery in Drango region of eastern Tibet was released on June 5.
